The 2015 China Brand Value Evaluation Information Release was jointly organized by China Brand Building Promotion Association, CCTV, China Assets Appraisal Association, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Brand value evaluation is mainly oriented to related industries where my country has industrial advantages, a relatively high proportion of national economic output, a good foundation for brand building, and mature brand evaluation conditions.
In the release of the regional brand value evaluation results of geographical indication protection products in 2015, experts evaluated more than 500 geographical indication protection products in terms of historical heritage, geographical and human characteristics, protection effects, and public recognition, but only 59 geographical indication products were shortlisted and included in the evaluation to release information. Among them, “Pizhou White Garlic” was selected as one of the only three geographical indication products in Jiangsu.
On December 17, 2008, “Pizhou White Garlic” was approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China as a national geographical indication product protection. In recent years, with the special location advantages and the continuous promotion of previous governments, the white garlic industry in Pizhou has developed rapidly and has become the largest garlic industry base in the province, with status in the country and influential internationally. At present, no matter from planting experience, cold storage and processing, or sales network, it has basically matured. It has become the city’s leading industry and an important source of income for local farmers.
